SkillVet has partnered with SonoVet to bring to the heart of Adelaide's city centre a
2 day veterinary cardiology masterclass in May 2026.
The course is lead by Dr. Laurent Locquet, an RCVS & European board-certified Cardiologist (Dip. ECVIM-CA) and fellow colleague of Dr. Manhei Ma at Dick White Referrals, Cambridgeshire UK - EU/UK's largest specialist referral hospital. He has lectured around the world including Asia, Middle East, Europe, and UK; and now for the first time he is sharing his cardiac knowledge with Australia.

Laurent graduated in 2015 from Ghent University, Belgium and worked in general practice for one year both abroad in South-Africa as well as in Belgium, primarily with cats, dogs and wildlife, before starting a rotating Internship in a busy referral centre in the UK. During his Internship, Laurent obtained his certificate in Veterinary Cardiology. After completing his Internship, Laurent completed a Residency in Veterinary Cardiology at the University of Ghent before joining a busy referral practice in the Greater London Area for one year. In 2022, he joined Dick White Referrals (DWR) a large veterinary specialist hospital in Cambridgeshire, UK.
Whilst at DWR, he completed a MBA. He founded the Veterinary Cardiology Club, an online teaching platform for cardio-enthusiasts, with currently over 400 members from over 70 countries, and co-founded Skillvet in 2025.
Laurent enjoys all aspects of veterinary Cardiology though he has a particular interest in procedures involving cardiopulmonary bypass, minimally invasive interventions and wildlife cardiology.
